Paul Harris Society Application

Director:  Donna Buchan

Foundation Committee - The Rotary Foundation is “our” charity.  The Rotary Foundation helps Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty.  As Rotarians, we have a responsibility to support it in order to help Rotary do good in the world.
The purpose of this committee is to invite the philanthropic contributions of club members to the Rotary Foundation by providing them with information and opportunities.  To develop and implement a plan to support the Rotary Foundation through participation in grant projects and activities.
Promotes The Rotary Foundation annual contributions from members, and awareness furthering the Every Year Every Rotarian Sustaining Members program. Supports The Rotary Foundation in the completion of the End Polio Now initiative through a developed plan. Encourages members to consider other programs of giving such as the Paul Harris Society, Bequest Society etc.

Foundation Awards

To provide acknowledgment and celebration of the “service above self” efforts of individuals, both Rotarians and non-Rotarians.   In honour of Paul Harris, the Founder of Rotary, awards are given to individuals who contribute through community leadership (Community Award) and/or financially (Club Award) to support the work of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.  As well, our Club awards an annual vocational service award in the name of founding Club Member, Peter Moore.

To provide three types of awards to worthy recipients:

Community Paul Harris Awards presented to individuals that demonstrate their commitment to helping others through leadership and action that aligns with the Rotary motto “Service Above Self”

Club Paul Harris Awards are presented to members who are recognized for their “Service About Self” and financial contributions of $1000 or more each year to the Rotary Foundation

The annual Peter Moore Vocational Award is given to one club member who demonstrates excellence in their profession.
